Want a Creepy Pony? Check out my commission info! [link]
This one was a more specific kind of commission, which I only take rarely - I have to be actually interested in the concept if I'm going to do something like this.
The story this was drawn for is called "Art of the Dress" or "Expectations" and can be read here on EQD: [link]
A description of the story:
"Rarity finds herself especially intrigued by the dresses of Ponyville's newest dressmaker. Struggling under the burden of her own adoration she finds herself trapped within an existential crisis. In this nihilistic twilight, she clings onto the last of her creative sanity, trying to pierce through the mysterium that is the new dressmaker's identity. A story that deals with what it is to be and, subsequently, what it is to not be in the world of creativity."
About the dresses, which I tried to design myself based on his descriptions:
"White one is supposed to be pristine and pastoral, like delicate blooming flowers carrying the innoccence of youth and the energy of spring Black one is supposed to hold the shimmer of the night's sky, mysterious and dark with twinkling stars, and boisterous with the adventurousness of adolescence Red one is supposed to be like a crimson wine, sultry and evocative while flowing smoothly like the cultured demeanour of an aged temptress"
And to make this a true Creepy Pony, I added in the sewn-in diamond on her chest to tie her torment back to her Cutie Mark.
Rarity, MLP:FiM (c) Lauren Faust, Hasbro, etc this image was made by me for ~NTSTS
This reminds me of some of the paintings done by Frida Kahlo-- expressing inner anguish, feelings, and pain; with symbols representing mishaps and events in her life. It specifically reminds me of this one, to tell you the truth: [link] Very well done.
Very well done.
She see's some 'phantom' dress shop and it makes her lose her mind, yes?
